The Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce held its Business and Economics Summit on August 7, 2024, with over 100 industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and local and state agencies.
The remarkable turnout and the vibrant exchange of ideas at the event showcased the power of collaboration and dialogue and inspired hope for a brighter future for our economy.
This year’s summit reflects a growing interest in addressing our business landscape’s pressing challenges and opportunities. Topics ranged from helping businesses understand the importance of Artificial intelligence (AI) to the best ways for said businesses to access private procurement opportunities.
Attendees actively participated, asking thought-provoking questions and sharing their perspectives, which fostered a vibrant exchange of ideas.
Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman was the featured guest speaker during a fireside chat-style discussion with PGCOC President & CEO Alexander Austin as she discussed her 2024 Procurement Playbook. The Maryland Procurement Playbook is the first assessment of Maryland’s federal, state, and local procurement activity. It aims to size the state’s public procurement economy and evaluate contracting and growth opportunities for Maryland-based firms.
The summit also provided ample networking opportunities, allowing participants to connect with like-minded professionals and potential collaborators.
Attendees exchanged contact information, discussed partnership possibilities, and explored new ventures. The connections made during this event will pave the way for future collaborations that will drive our economy forward.
