The Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexander K. Austin as its new President & CEO. Mr. Austin takes the helm of the Chamber with a record of supporting business and economic development, having most recently served as the Director of Business Services at Employ Prince George’s. Mr. Austin’s selection caps a comprehensive search process, conducted by the Chamber’s Executive Committee with the support of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, which began in June of this year. The Board of Directors of the Chamber have tremendous confidence that Mr. Austin is the dynamic leader with the skills and experience needed to lead the Chamber into the future.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Chair Cassius Priestly applauded the appointment of Mr. Austin, noting that “He is the right person at the right time, and I could not be more excited to have him lead the Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce.”

He added, “I also want to sincerely thank Donna Graves, Interim President & CEO, for stepping forward to temporarily lead the Chamber as we implemented a thorough search process to find a permanent leader of the Chamber. She, in partnership with the talented Chamber staff, ensured the Chamber continued to be an effective voice and advocate for business in the county.”

On the news of his selection, Mr. Austin commented, “I am honored to have been selected to support the dynamic businesses of Prince George’s County. Our county has enjoyed great gains in employment and economic output in recent years, but this is a critical time for business. To retain our title as a growth engine for the region, and to fully realize the potential of the county as a place to do business, we need to maintain a strong Chamber of Commerce and I will dedicate myself to continuing the great work of my predecessors to build the Chamber.”

Mr. Austin will begin work on December 19th, 2022.
