About The Program

The Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce (PGCOC) is dedicated to fostering a thriving economic environment for businesses in Prince George’s County, enhancing the overall quality of life for its residents. As part of this mission, PGCOC has partnered with CareFirst and FSC First on equity and inclusion grants aimed at creating new opportunities for local businesses. Program Overview
This six-month training program takes 15 minority vendors through all the steps to be eligible and apply for procurement opportunities with CareFirst, FSC First, Clark Construction, Pepco, Industrial Bank, Turner Construction, Hensel Phelps, and Luminus Health. Participants will be certified as a minority supplier through the Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council. Their first year membership will be covered in the program. 
Program Highlights
  • 13 businesses in Prince George’s County were accepted into cohort one of the program  (26 applicants)
  • 8 corporate partners including CareFirst, FSC First, Clark Construction, Pepco, Industry Bank, Turner Construction, Hensel Phelps and Luminus Health
  • 50 participants in the first and second EIP Program workshops (Source: Zoom)
  • A key benefit of the workshops is the peer-to-peer mentoring. More tenured businesses are able to share experiences and advise newer companies on the ins and outs of proposal writing and the contracting process.
Meet Cohort One

We are excited to have thirteen businesses in Prince George’s county join the initial EIP program cohort. This program is designed to equip cohort members with the tools, resources, and connections needed to successfully compete for corporate procurement opportunities. We are truly excited to support each of the 13 businesses’ journeys and look forward to the procurement strategies they will leverage for success!

CM TateCM Tate Real Estate Development

Company: CM Tate provides real estate technical advisory services for clients and their own internal developments. With knowledge of real estate entitlements, site analysis, design & construction coordination as well as financing, CM Tate will serve as a guide throughout the full development process. The company’s core focus is to create economic development growth within communities through each project.

Bio: Mr. Tate is a knowledgeable and experienced Real Estate Development professional. With over fifteen (15+) years of direct project implementation experience in the real estate industry. He has gained extensive understanding in various asset classes inclusive of multifamily, educational facilities, retail, healthcare facilities and office. This experience extends to all phases of the development process inclusive of facility planning, financing, entitlements, budgeting, design, construction, FF&E planning, commissioning and tenant move-in. While he is a native of Detroit, MI, Rob has lived in the DC area for close to 20 years. He currently lives in Ft. Washington, MD with his wife and three (3) children.
